Marketing Principles To Know

Marketing Plans aren’t just for large corporations, every small business and non-profit should have one too! Imagine a major football, hockey or baseball game without a game plan or taking a road trip without a map!

There are important reasons why taking the time and effort to develop a marketing plan is a must for every small business owner or non-profit organization. The problem is finding the time to create a marketing plan that doesn’t sit in a desk drawer and accumulate dust! However, a well written one page marketing action plan with one or two goals will enable you to achieve your overall business goals and help your business achieve its mission and become successful.

With over 40 years’ experience in PR and marketing strategy, Diane has had to keep up with changes in the marketing and communication fields. A marketing plan has kept her focused and ensured that her marketing objectives are aligned with her business goals and strategy.

From her position many years ago as Pro Consul at the British Consulate General in St Louis, where she arranged personal appearances and media interviews for personalities such as Prince Charles and Lord Snowden, to Special Events Director for a major department store, (even filling in for frosty the snowman at Breakfast with Santa if necessary!); and her twenty plus years as owner of a marketing company, she has enjoyed every minute of her career, helping small businesses and entrepreneurs to grow in good times and in bad.

As a Certified Marketing Consultant, companies hire Diane to work with them to produce and implement a marketing action plan and to collaborate and develop creative marketing programs.

A marketing action plan is an important tool in Diane’s marketing toolkit. According to Diane “With so many marketing tools and technologies available today, it’s easy to become distracted and lose sight of your intended business goal. A marketing plan, with one or two goals, can keep you focused on what you really need so that you don’t waste time on what you don’t need”.

Diane will share with us how she is building a successful marketing strategy and coaching practice using a one page marketing action plan that lays out clearly defined objectives that make it easy to identify the tasks that need to be done to move your business forward.
